PHI - the Passive House Institute

The Passive House Institute (PHI) is an independent research institute founded and headed by Dr. Wolfgang Feist and currently employing about 30 employees. PHI focuses on research and development in the field of energy efficient buildings and has been the driving force of the Passive House development in Germany. iPHA - the International Passive House Association

iPHA is an independent and objective network of Passive House stakeholders including architects, planners, scientists, suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and property developers. It works to promote the Passive House Standard and foster a greater public understanding of its significance. Encouraging the exchange of Passive House knowledge, iPHA communicates with the media, the general public and the entire range of construction professionals. IG Passivhaus Deutschland is iPHA's German Affiliate. Both are communication initiatives of the Passive House Institute, thus ensuring the highest level of technical expertise, professional competence, independence and objectivity.

United Kingdom

The Passivhaus Trust, iPHA's British Affiliate, is an independent, non-profit organisation that will provide leadership in the UK for the adoption of the Passive House Standard and methodology.

Hungary

The Passzívházépítok Országos Szövetsége (PAOSZ), or Passive House Association of Hungary was founded in 2009. It aims to achieve energy savings, lower environmental impact and a more comfortable living environment in the Hungarian construction industry through the Passive House concept.

Certified Passive House Designer
The “Certified Passive House Designer”certificate is offered by the Passive House Institute (PHI) as a means of facilitating quality assurance throughout the design process. The certificate can be obtained by passing a test or by presenting a Quality Approved Passive House construction project and it serves as an indication for potential customers that the holder has acquired the knowledge and experience required for the successful planning of Passive Houses.

International Passive House Conference
This annual event is the platform for energy efficient building, uniting Passive House stakeholders from all over the world to discuss the latest developments in energy efficient architecture and exchange their ideas and experiences in this regard.

International Passive House Days
At the International Passive House Days, anyone can learn more about the comforts of a Passive House. The event is put on by the International Passive House Association (IPHA), its German affiliate, the Informations Gemeinschaft Passivhaus Deutschland (IG Passivhaus), several European Passive House Communities, the EU Project PASS-NET and a number of partners abroad. This year's International Passive House Days will take place from 11 -13 November 2011.
